History and art
The year 1907, when the library TEUSCH built inside the defensive walls of Brasov (Kronstadt, Brasso) on Târgul Cailor Street (now Gheorghe Bariţiu) in an authentic Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) villa that today is called Residence Central Annapolis.
Mister. TEUSCH helped by his daughters - both renowned teachers in Braşov community, but also by the greatest architect of the time, contributed to build and decorate this building in the smallest details, the construction being finished in 1909.
The building has remained unchanged over time, even though it has gone through various historical moments: the First World War, the Second, the period of Communism.
Today, the building preserves the architectural elements of the ART NOUVEAU period, as well as the original decorative elements such as: the hand made oak wood floors,the handmade stoves produced by the best producers of the time - the Schmidt brothers who have inscribed their logo on every stove (Bruder Schmidt / testverek Schmidt), mosaic in the bathrooms and on the corridors of the building, doors made of fir, chandeliers or lamps used by the Teusch family, the pieces of furniture and decorations that belonged to the famous local family.
